"I was born and raised in the church until I was about 12 years old. From that time until I was 20 years old I was out in the world experiencing much of its troubles.
The Dark Years:
1st Peter 4:3 perfectly sums of these 8 wasteful, yet graceful years of my life.
1 Peter 4:3- "You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy--their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols."
I refer to them as graceful because I'm so ecstatic that Jesus did not allow me to die in my sins. It was only by His amazing saving grace.
In fact, the Lord was calling me for many years and yet I'd been fighting Him. When I was 19 years old, that all changed whenever I had a supernatural experience that would forever change and help shape my life.
My Road To Damascus Experience:
One night while I was on drugs I had an extremely clear, yet terrifying vision, and partial experience of hades, or what we often refer to as "hell". My spirit went there while my body remained on earth. There, I saw people that I did not know being tortured beyond earth's adequate description
That night I heard both the voice of satan and Jesus. There, I also had an angelic visitation that ministered to me and began to lead me out of the fearful state that I was in.
Needless to say, this experience got my attention, and I ran to a Spirit filled Pentecostal church as fast as I could. I renounced my old life and was born again.
My experience and things I'd seen that night, led me into a desperate searching of as Abraham put it, 'the Judge of the earth". The God who had just spared my soul. (I'm still on that journey by the way). I wanted to know Him, I'd heard about Him all of my life, but now I knew He was real. My life began to consist of studying the bible for hours at a time, prayer, worship, church involvement, and telling everyone I knew and did not know about the Lord.
Several years later I felt a call to start a ministry, a ministry known today as Disciples Of Christ Jesus. Along the way, God has blessed me with a precious family and we've been humbled to plant the Church in St. Martinville, La. !
Thanks for listening to my story! God bless you."
